Safety Saturday: Top 5 Home Safety Tips That Are Always Forgotten

This #SafetySaturday, we wanted to provide you with 5 Home Safety Tips That Are Always Forgotten.

1. Keep your car keys close to your bed while you sleep: If you hear a suspicious noise and suspect that someone is trying to break in, press the Panic button on your keys. The car alarm will sound, and the burglar will have no choice to run.

2. Make sure there is a smoke alarm on every level of your house: Test the batteries every six months in every smoke alarm that is in your house. Install carbon monoxide alarms as well, especially near sleeping areas.

3. Walk through your home and identify places where it is easy to trip or fall: Make sure there are no loose rugs, wires, poorly lit staircases, and clutter on the floors. Trying to eliminate hazards will go a long way to keep the people in your home safe.

4. Keep poisonous liquid laundry packets out of reach from children: Keep the packets in the original container and keep the container closed at all times.

5. Keep loose batteries locked away to prevent small children from getting access to the batteries: These include remote controllers, singing greeting cards, digital scales, watches, hearing aids, thermometers, toys, calculators, or decorations that contain batteries in them.
