Memorable Monday: Police Officer Thomas W. Cottrell Jr.
Today is #MemorableMonday, and we would like to honor Police Officer Thomas W. Cottrell, Jr., from the Danville Police Department located in Ohio.
Police Officer Thomas W. Cottrell Jr., age 34, was shot and killed from ambush behind the village's municipal building in Danville, Ohio shortly after 11:00 pm on January 17th, 2016. His service weapon and patrol car had been stolen.
Officer Cottrell had served in law enforcement for 13 years. Cottrell was one of six officers in the Danville Police Department. Prior to joining the Danville Police Department, he served with the Frazeysburg Police Department, Thornville Police Department, and Utica Police Department. He is survived by his three children, mother, father, stepmother, and several siblings.
